Most engineers in Liferay, Inc. Happen to be Windows users. Me, I've got one of the few MacBook Pro's in the company. Ever since I joined the company in May 2005, I have used Macs to do my development. In fact, I have been using.
I intend to use VirtualBox to test Liferay on IE 6 and IE 7 without having to reboot my machine. It provides me with a testing lab on my laptop, obviating the need for multiple machines. If only it could virtualize Mac hardware so I could install Mac OS! The author has taken a virtual enterprise as an example and has used the features of Liferay to build a corporate intranet for that enterprise. This book is for System Administrators or experienced users (not necessarily programmers) who want to install and use Liferay in their teams or businesses without dealing with complex code.

The Sync Connector app lets users connect to their portals from the Liferay Sync desktop and mobile clients. It also lets administrators control how these clients interact with their portal. Once installed, the Sync Connector app provides the portal services required by the clients. No additional portal configuration is required. However, portal administrators can use the Sync Admin portlet installed with this app to control what sites are available for Sync. They can also use this portlet to disable Sync across the portal.
After installing, the Sync Admin portlet is available in the Control Panel’s Configuration section.
Please visit http://www.liferay.com/products/liferay-sync/features for more information on downloading the Liferay Sync desktop and mobile clients. Liferay Sync is compatible with Windows, Mac OS, iOS, and Android. The Sync Connector app requires version 3.0+ of the Sync desktop or mobile client.
